I'm looking for a sling for CQB for my 6920.  What would you guys recommend.  Also, whats the best way to mount oone since the receiver extenstion is staked on a Colt?  Thanks!

I personally  like ASP's sling the best.

Its not a big deal pulling it even with the staking.  I like the single point ASP...hold on and I'll pull up pics.....

The Specter CQB single point is what I use on a couple but for the LE6920, you may want to use an attachment that fits around the buffer tube (without breaking the staked castle nut)

I cannot remember who makes them.......maybe GG&G. Not sure but I spoke to a guy who had one and he loves it, although he gives up the shortest position on his collapsible stock

I will see if I have a picture of it somewhere

eta: GG & G has them and you can see it here. This is not the one I was thinking of, but it will work fine

Ok, please excuse this picture, but imageshack.com is giving me a hard time today, so the better pics are hidden away right now.

The below picture shows the Daniel Defense single point sling mount that does not require pulling the staking.  It bolts on, and also acts as a stop if you use your stock set to a certain position (like I do in this picture).  Its takes about 2 minutes to unpack and install (if you are slow and lazy).  The mount is ambi and can be swapped in seconds without tools.

The sling is the ASP, and is available through www.jtrusty.com.  I've used other single point slings and had ended up all of them sitting in a box.  The ASP is currently the beast to beat in single point slings.

While this picture is of my training weapon, my duty carbine also now carries the ASP sling.

I rather like the really long sling you get with the 6920. Plenty long to let you drop the carbine to weak side, with no counfounding mechanisms or extra doodads to get entangled.

Plain ol' really long 2-point or IDF sling for me.

This sort of depends on what your role on the team is and how often you would have to transition to another weapon, tool or get hands-on with someone.

I prefer a homemade "ring sling" for the most part, it allows you to quickly go to a takedown without worrying about sharing your rifle, or eating the stock when you go to the deck. I would caution that a cross-draw vest rig is best for your handgun if you use this setup though.

We have a sling mount (single point) that does not require any gunsmithing.

I really like single point slings for IDPA-style rifle competition (as close as I'm getting to CQB).  I got a Troy sling that is extremely comfortable and practical.  I've used it for hunting and around the farm with great success, but unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to use it in competition.

I like the Single point from Troy industries.

I also like the SOP Sling from Specter. You can use it as a 3 point sling or a one point sling!

I like the Spec-Ops "Mamba" sling. It helps to keep the barrel out of the dirt if you kneel or crouch alot by keeping some positive control on the barrel end. The single point slings allow the gun to swing around a little more than I like when transitioning to a hand gun. Makes a difference if you have to do more manual labor than just clearing rooms.

My opinion.

Stickman, where can I get one of the Daniel Defense single point sling mount ? I found the ASP with no problem but would like one of the sling mounts just like you have on your rifle.

Would this prevent the stock from collapsing all the way?

I ordered an ASP. I looked at their website, and it looks like a good sling for my setup.

Not knocking on the slings from these companies. I like my el cheapo homemade single point. I just used the slots on the stock on my carbine and the stock sling that came with it from Bushmaster. To keep it from cutting into my neck I got an old rubber pad from an old suitcase and wrapped it in o.d. paracord since the pad was navy blue. Not the prettiest  or name brand but it works.

The only concern I had/have is the weight of carbine pulling on the buffer tube and stock while not holding the carbine. So far no problems but it is a possible problem.

I picked mine up from www.jtrusty.com when I got the sling.  When I started figuring shipping, time and aggravation, it made sense  to get it all from the same place.  I don't think anyone could have better customer service.  I think it took all of two days and everything from him was here.

I say go three point.

If you go single point, you will have to watch your nuts.

Specter, Tactical Tailor, or Spec-Ops.

I have used all three and they are all top notch.

I agree with the ASP sling.  I've handled alot of slings and this one's a keeper.  That's why I decided to become a dealer for TAG industries.
