Thanks

Make sure the flashhider wont be impacted by rounds leaving the muzzle. Otherwise you should be fine. It is a combat rifle after all.

Thanks for sharing, we were very worried if you had dropped your rifle lately.

So, um, is there a question or are you just thinking about asking a question...aloud?

Sorry to hear the bad news, if the structure of the flash hider is damaged then you should remove it being it could interfere with all exiting rounds, as long as it still holds its original structural shape you should be fine

Are you always ignorant, or is it just tonight? He asked if there was anything he should check before firing the weapon again.

Try reading the post before you reply. Better to be thought a fool, than open your mouth (or type a response), and remove all doubt.

Just check to ,ake sure that those dents on the fs do not get in line with the bullet path.

Well that was helpful...

Check the muzzle and flash hider for any damage that might impact a bullet, but I doubt you will find anything...

I hate when I fumble a gun...

Well since you dropped your weapon, I think you owe the whole ARFCOM crew here 20 pushups.

“So drop maggot and give me 20!”

Retards should be banned.

Well, I wont ban him, (couldnt even if I really wanted to), but that was very uncalled for and I think Ian owes Icon an apology for being a jerk.

Oh no!, now you're gonna have to get rid of that birdacge (or vortex or whatever) and get a SILENCER!

seriously now, i'd listen to the guys that adviced checking the bullet path, after all making sure could not hurt, but i'm guessing it should be just fine.

HUNTER.

Often the hardest part of dropping a weapon is fighting the urge to try and catch it mid-fall.

DON"T DO IT!

Suck it up and watch it happen.  If you try to catch it you may end up grapping it in such a way you come in contact with the trigger.

It can and HAS happened!  I'd rather have a dinked up gun, than a dinked up gun and a bullet hole in something.

Let them fall, DO NOT TRY TO CATCH THEM!!!

And yell "SHIT" really loud after the firearm has been lying there a few seconds(as long as no one is around).  This will damage the gun more than the impact.  Thats what I told myself after a two hundred dollar gunsmith bill, once.

Stick your foot out and catch it like a hackey sack.  Thats what I do.

After that kick your foot up and flip the rifle around in mid air and grab it with one hand.

Then say, "I meant to do that."

Funny, I was about to start a thread regarding a recent "fall down" incident of my own.  It's been bothering the hell out of me for days.  Only mine fell while propped on a chair sight first on to a carpeted floor.  Sounded like a hell of a thud, but everything seems secure.  I know it is a tool capeable of being used in brutal combat, but I can't help worrying that I slightly misaligned something.  Guess I'll have to wait until I get it out on the range again.  No, I am not crying about it.  Just another symptom of BRD.

If your flash hider is dented so bad that it's questionable a bullet could impact the wall of the FH, then that would be one fucked up FH.  I wouldn't worry at all.  I've seen more M16s hit the deck than i care to even attempt to recall, and have never seen one that the flash hider needed to be replaced.  I'm sure it has happened, but I doubt it was because it was dented, but prolly broke in half.  Thanks for sharing your story with us, sorry you scratched your baby...

Indeed.

I'm sorry Icon. It was uncalled for for me to not recognize that their was a question wrapped into your statement. Next time I will look closer and apply question marks where I think they should go rather than where you put them...or where you don't in your case.

Where exactly is the question? Looks like a statement, no?
