Hi,
I have a problem, sometimes the bullet just won't fire, I see that the mark on the back of the bullet is very weak, and I think that sometimes the hammer just doesn't hit hard enough for the bullet to fire. Is there a solution to this problem, has anyone encounterd a similar issue? This happens once in a while sometimes I can go over a whole mag of 30 with no issues sometimes it wont fire like 5 times in a row. The bullets that do not fire I get them and reuse them later on and they fire so it is not a problem with the amo.
Any easy solution without going to the gunsmith?

Some where in the firing pin, hammer, or hammer spring would be my guess. is it an old AR with a lot of wear?

Sounds like a weak spring, fouled up trigger pin or the bolt isn't closing all the way...

actualy the AR is old but it hasn't got a lot of use. The bolt closes well so could it be the hammer spring? If so where can I get one? Firing pin, I thought of that also, but it looks fine, can it be weare off? I have been told that they can brake but not wear. As for the hammer, well this is a M16 hammer and it looks good...

If you installed the hammer spring backwards then your hammer is not operating under the proper tension and is giving weak primer hits.
