I have a blue label Colt R6601. A2, 20" bbl, no bayo. A friend of my uncle offered me $1200 for it. It has been fired but is in good shape. What are they actually selling for? I have seen prices anywhere from $650 to $1800 on the net. I've got another AR so it wouldn't break my heart to let this one go and then buy something else. Thanks Bob from Indy |
| i would take it. the 6601 is in post ban configuration and not as desirable as the pre-ban or the newer L.E. models. i have seen the 6601 sell new for $800 and would consider it about average of what should be expected. so at $1200 i would think you are makeing very well if you no longer want or need the rifle. i own a mint 6601 that i have no intentions of ever selling but at that price i would be very tempted. |

I had this same gun, mine was slab sided, with no sear block and std. fire control componants, perfect for a DIAS conversion on someone wanting to do a retro Vietnam era slab side conversion clone. If it's a later gun with sear block and oversized fire control pins, I would take the money and run. |
| my fault, i did not notice that yours was a R6601 and not a MT6601. as i understand it the R6601 with a serial# MH086020 and lower is a pre-ban. they do tend to sell for a little more. i have seen the R6601 sell between $1,000 and $2,000 but only people who dont know any better would pay more than $1,200 for a used one. it took me all of about 30 seconds to find more than one selling for under $1,000 new on-line. so i would still say that you would be makeing a good deal for yourself by selling it for $1,200 used. sorry about any confusion i may have caused. it was the blue label that threw me off as all my post-ban models came with blue labels. |
