Do you many of you have your AR set up with Ambi controls?

Is there an advantage to ambi controls.

no, but then i am right handed

a couple of left handed folks who have shot my ARs only complain about the mag release and safety....

No. Also shoot bolt action righties and I prefer them to their left handed counterparts.

No ambi or lefty-specific parts on any of my rifles.  I like everything to be in the same place if I need to use someone else's.

I have an ambi selector. Advantage? I can flick the selector with my thumb just like a righty...

Thanks for the replies.

I purchased an ambi-saftey and Norgon ambi-mag catch(price), I was hesitant to buy , but I use my AR for three gun and most likely will never have to pick up someones right handed rifle in battle.
So I thought the ambi-would help my time a little.  I 'll have to shoot to see if I like the changes to my AR.

I am a lefty. I have an ambi-safety but not an ambi-mag release because I don't want to drop the much money on something I can do just fine with it setup on the right.

I'm a right-handed person.

However, when shooting a rifle, Im ambidexterous, although I prefer left-handed.

I shoot a handgun right-handed.

Since I shoot a rifle either way, I have all controls normal.

I just learned to use the controls as they are.
Trigger finger sweeps off the safety just fine on it's way to it's home.

Yeh, expensive little part.

Bought an ambi safety a couple of years back.  After keeping it on one of my ARs for awhile, I took it off;  because after 35+ years of using my left index finger to swipe off the safety, I couldn't get used to using my thumb

I'm a lefty and I don't mind the right-handed controls. I do wish it would eject to the other side. If I don't have my cheek weld just right, sometimes I catch one breezing past my cheek. But I try to have the same cheek weld all the time anyway. I do have one bolt-action set up lefty style, a Savage in .22LR, and it is sweet to have it that way, but I don't really mind using right-handed bolties either. My shotgun is a double side-by-side, so no diff there.

Myself.....extended bolt catch and a Badger Tach-latch. To lock the bolt back I can reach the longer lever with my left index finger while using my right to palm the charging handle, works great for me. I didn't however like the ambi-safety...easy enough to flick it with trigger finger as stated above.

I am right handed but left eye dominant so I shoot left handed.
I have no problem using the right hand version of any weapon.
So no left or ambi controls for me.
