Is there any advantages or disadvantages to a ported barrel like this setup? Its probably a stupid question but does it serve any purpose or would a traditional flash suppressor be more useful. Also any thoughts on the fluted barrel?

Get a break. Porting a barrel can't be changed like a break can. they have the same effect except i hear that there are certain types of ammo you cant shoot out a ported barrel, but i'm not sure one that.
