Should I do up my M4gery?  Part of me wants to, but part wants the black rifle.  I just can't get myself to take the plunge.hinking.gif  What do you guys think?

If you feel a hankering now and then for a black rifle, then just leave it black and save yourself the trouble.  Don't bother painting a rifle unless you have more than one or you think you'll actually need to do it for functional reasons.

I have a 20" Colt, I'll never paint it... Although, I AM going to be getting an M4gery soon, which I'll paint Desert Digital Camouflage pattern, and make it my work horse :-).

Best of both worlds, 1 black, 1 painted.

I have a few ARs, it taking me awhile to build up enough nerve to paint one of them camo.
This is my grab & go rifle, I seem to spend most of  my time  handling & shooting this one.

Looks better in person.

well if you cant afford two guns just paint half of it camo or just one side of it and you have the best of both worlds truly.

I totally agree with that…

If you only have one, I’d tell you to not paint is. As the BRD settles in and you collection grows, I’d definitely paint one. I took the plunge and painted my little Bushmaster M4gery. I absolutely love it, think it’s the coolest thing. Open the safe and there’s a camo arf right there.

My inspiration…

to me there really isnt any point of not having a camo gun. I dont think i own one gun besides pistols that arnt camo. I use all of mine for hunting so id rather not have a big black gun with me. Normly i just buy mine camo from the factory but sense you cant do that with a AR15 i had to paint.  Go ahead and paint it if you want even if it is your only one.

I'm going to have to agree with those who say only paint it if you have more than one.

Obviously this is purely an opinion.....but thats what you asked for right??

I only have one right now and I will never paint it. Personally I don't think I'll do any painting until my 4th or 5th. There are just too many configurations I want in a black rifle before I'll start thinking in terms of camo.

Try changeing out  funiture on it first. See how you like it.  You can always change back to black.

If you are still unsure, leave it be for now.
Do a search for pics of cammo'ed rifles.
Maybe that will help you decide.
Or look at the tacked picture thread of all
different types on page 1 of this forum.
Good luck.

ETA: Minnesota? Would you need any other color but winter white?

+1 a different furniture cover goes a long way towards doing what the cammoflauge is suposed to do, breaking up the shape from a distance.

I do have 2.  The A4gery just has to be black, I was also worried I might want to rearange stuff, ir change things out, concidering I have broken 2 stocks.  It would be a desert scheme anyhow.  I do appreciate the input.hug.gif

I have an even better idea....do one in each scheme, ie. 1- black  2- desert camo  3- jungle camo  4- urban camo  5- tigerstripe...etc, etc. hatThen again, you may have trouble deciding which one to play with!!     heavy.gif

This rifle was done in DuraCoat the colors are: Mesquite Green, Desert Lizard Brown, with Stone and Dark Brown accents. Put some paint on it make it unique and one of a kind.

Something I'm going to try that my wife suggested...paint on the base color , then dab the other colors on with a sea sponge for a "blotched" pattern. I'll post some pics when I do it.
No airbrush required!!

Sea sponge?  Unless it looks really great that one will haunt you.
