what a weekend at the Raleigh Gun Show - I'll save the negative for another thread. The good part - Del-Ton - first class outfit. Bought an ARMS 58M and a PRI flip up FS. Got home and went to work on the 6721. Removed handguards, gas tube, FSB (no problem with the "socket" trick), dremmel'd the delta ring (no problem), removed the delta ring retaining springs (dremmel surgery - perfect). Now I'm ready to re assemble. We are a no go on the gas tube houston - the Colt gas tube is not even close to matching the diameter of the PRI flip up. Am I supposed to use a special gas tube for the PRI? Has anybody experienced this before? Any suggestions would be great. |
The fit between the two should be pretty darn snug. Generally speaking both the hole in the FSB and gas tub need to be squeeky clean to get them to fit togather. But I am not really sure of the tolerances. Do Not take anything off the gas tube. (Just make sure all of the carbon is cleaned of the outside diameter of the tube) EDITED TO ADD: I just re-read the post. If your FSB is a new PRI, I would just make sure everything is clean both inside the FSB and the outside of the gas tube. If its still a no-go, give PRI a call . . .they are any outstanding company and can help you out. |
