OK so do the 9mm ARs use the gas system to unlock the bolt or are they pure blowback i.e. unlocked relying on bolt mass and recoil spring only.

9mm's are fun to shoot but get very dirty so clean up can be a pain.

thanks, any idea where I can see some schematics of the insides? I have a standard Eagle arms M15 and want to know if I can put a 9mm upper on it?

the 9mm upper will fit on basically any ar15 lower.
