Law Enforcement Marked Bushmaster M-4 Patrolman Carbine, 16" M-4 profile barrel with A-2 flash hider, A-3 upper with removable carry handle, 6 position telestock, Bushmaster hard case, sling, owners manual, 30 round mag.. $880.00 did I get a good deal on this gun? and is it top of Bushmaster class? |
That price is fine, there will no doubt be people who pop up and post that they have seen them cheaper, but many places are more expensive. I would say you did good. Bushmaster doesn't have different "classes" of products, they are all solid weapons. |
I agree with Max and as civilian Bushmaster carbines go, it is the top of its class. You could shoot it just like it is and be good to go, or as many have done, replace the handguards with the M4 style (larger), or FF rail set-up and spend a small fortune tricking it out.

Calm down Billmanweh... I'm not sure he knows about the EE yet... But Hylton, for future reference, here at AR15.com's very own Equipment Exchange, you can find the BEST deals. Hands down. Welcome to the site and congrats on a fine purchase! (I'm not much newer than you are. You'll eventually come to find that this site is and incredibly valuable resource. I can't imagine owning my AR without it.) |
I can. I'd have one M4gery and be perfectly happy. Instead I have a safe full of the little bastards.
|
I haven't seen any store sell one at even near 880. I think you got a good deal. |
|
No, they aren't any different and they aren't worth anymore. As far as websites for AR upgrades, I guess it would be a question of what parts you think need upgrading.... |
|
I got the exact same model Bushmaster as you did. Only mine cost about 925$, with tax it came out to about 1000$. Im still waiting for mine to come in to the gunstore thoughhould. Edited: Spelling |

Haha, yes, I understand... I started planning my next AR purchase the day I left the shop with my Bushmaster M4A3. Needless to say, my wallet has been mighty skinny since then. h |

I'm glad you guys think I got a good deal, I ordered her off of GunsAmerica from a dealer in Arkansas, Knesek Guns they have some super deals 5% Pics of my new gun |
| One thing has been bother me for the last week, I called Bushmaster and asked them about barrel ware and when the barrel will need replaced, they told me on chrome barrels I will start to lose accuracy after as many rounds as 16,000, then I’ll have to replace the barrel at 20,000. When the barrel does go out can I install another one myself at home? |

First of all, most people on this baord will never shoot 20,000 rounds through their all their weapons put together, so most companies through out a BS number that really means nothing. Secondly, the way you fire and treat the weapon will have more to do with how long the barrel lasts than the amount of rounds you put through it. If you do all your shooting at a bench shooting, slowfire only range, the barrel will last much much longer. If you are running CQB drills, don't expect it to do as well as the guy who only slow fires. Either way, it isn't a big deal to change the barrel. I have a Bushmaster barrel that I beat on without mercy (loads of CQB drills). It still shoots well enough to make head shots at 100 yards without any problem, and while that isn't good enough for many people, it is more than good enough for me. I guess my answer is to not worry about it. |
It should be 1/9 twist. Congrads on your first AR and at a good price. SteyrAUG sold me my first AR, a Bushmaster. Out the door was $905. Don't worry about wearing out your barrel. Feed it quality ammo often and keep the barrel clean. HS1 |

I just sold my LEO Bushmaster for $850 to buy a Bushmaster Modular I looked around the internet and the average price was around $950-1050 for an LEO I don't want to get into a pissing contest with anybody about ammo, so I will just say that I stuck with the XM193 ammo so I didn't have to learn any lessons on my own. A lot of people shoot the less expensive ammo and never have a single issue. I will say that the Bushmasters my friends had were pumping the Wolf and Silver Bear with no issues. I don't think it's all that bad |
