You have to buy these as complete rifles, and the parts aren't functionally interchangable with standard ARs (the upper, lower, bolt/carrier and a few other parts are custom). www.ar47.com -Troy |
It was my understanding (and the claim on their website) that you can use any 7.62x39 upper with this lower with a $75 modification to it that will not stop it from being functional on a standard lower. It was also my understanding that it used all AR15 lower internals except for the magazine catch and trigger guard. I have no FIRST hand experience with this item though (yet). That's just what I've read on THEIR website as well as a couple of threads here on ARFCOM. I've seen a picture of ARFCOM member "HK_Dude"s AR-47, and it looks SWEET! Maybe he'll notice this thread and give his $.02 Edited to add: Found it!

That's my point: a standard 7.62 upper needs to be modified (by widening the upper and cutting channels into the bolt carrier). Thus, a STANDARD upper will not work on the AR47 lower. Folks were talking about just buying the lower and dropping their STANDARD uppers on it, which is a no-go. -Troy |
