Hey guys, just wondering if the M-73 fore-end is a "Decent-Enough" product to put on my new Bushy "M-4".  I don't want it for much more than a hand-guard (I've gotten used to the KAS front-end on my issue M-4) and will probably never hang anything on it but, I'd hate to spend $175-$200+ on something that'll come up lacking if I ever get the bug to START hanging things on it.

Decent enough for the $$$?

For me the M73 looks like a great product. well made, priced right. as much as i dont care for railed handguards. this one looks worth the money. simple drop in installation, snug fit, surefire quality. the only drawback is only when you plan to hang around too many gadgets and gizmos on it, it may stress the barrel because it does not free float it. but for short to medium range, i dont think accuracy diffrence will be that great. and since its drop in, when you get bored with it, its simple to remove , no need to dismantle whole upper

Thanks a bunch for the input Sunga',.  Like I said, I'm really NOT into the "Kitchen-sink" mentality as far as fore-ends go but I've gotten used to something a bit wider than the standard HG's and was looking at the M-73 as a less expensive route to go than a KAS front-end.

Thanks.

I love mine, I can mount up a  tac lite or leave it off, and its fine with my Tango down. Accuracy is not affected for my personal use, Im hitting paint bucket covers at 200+ yards with an EO Tech. and thats more than I had hoped for.

I have one on my Bushmaster A2 and like it a lot.  It's rock solid and very easy to install.

I bought another one and plan on putting it on my Colt Commando SBR whenever the transfer process is complete.

I  have the M73 on my Bushy M4 and I am extremely happy with it and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a railed forend but since you like your issue Knights Armarment forend and since the M73 is a little thinner than then the KAC I would go with the forend from MI.  They are a little cheaper than the M73 and they are pretty close to the same design and looks as the KAC one.  I have not personally tried them yet but from what I have heard and from the reputation of MI I am sure they are a very good forend.

I guess I have to be the negative one.  I bought on for my M4 and did not like it.  I received another one on a rifle I purchased.  Both of them I ended up selling.  The top rail is not level with the A3 flat top.  My tango down front grip would not mount properly.  I tried putting Knights Rail panels on it and they would not fit either.  My M3X would not slide on without some serious force due to the location of the allen screws.  I switched to a KAC RAS.  On the other hand if you are not planning on mounting anything on it the price is right.

I have an m73 with surefire 952 light and GG&G foregip mounted on it and get 1 inch groups at 100 meters without a problem.

The height of the 12 position rail is ONLY important if you are mounting an optic on it (which isn't a good idea since the rail isn't free floated). The rail's vary somewhat on size and the TD VG requires a precise rail (so this is not a good combo).
