Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a M203 with M203 mounts and handguard for a 16" XM15.  I am putting together a show weapon, any help or ideas would be appreciated.  Please respond to this thread or email at [email protected].
Thanks,
jason

look on gunbroker.com, there are a few of the 37mm M203 clones around there usually.

By the way, I know Bushy used to make one for my rifle, I only assume there are some around.  Oh yeah, and I have cash!

the Bushmaster 37mm is made by Etc. They're pretty much the *only* 37mm rifle mounted launcher manufacture out there.  Everyone else has stopped making them or gon out of buisiness.  It's cheaper to contact Etc and buy directly.

si, and their info is on 37mm.com. they are located in my home state of tennessee. i called them a few weeks ago, they said they were backed up four to six weeks, and to call back later (they wouldn't even take an order until they were closer to sure about their production time).

so, i contacted one of the sellers on gunbroker.com about them and ordered one from him (vlad2000 on gunbroker), and even he has the rifle handguards on backorder. supposedly he is getting them this week. in a few hours, it will be two weeks since i ordered.

i will post pics in my build thread once all my stuff comes in. should be sweet!

heh, depends on his state, in this screwy one I can't own a SBS but I can own a grenade launcher. Somehow, my feelings aren't hurt.

I orderd from Bushmaster and got it in 3 weeks. ETC... fills Bushmaster orders first.
Any way save your money, the mount is so shitty that it just wiggles side to side on a M4. The rear mount only friction fits the barrel nut with 1 litte stud at the 6:00 position. It was not possible to tighten the front mount enough to stop it from moving forward and backwards.
If I am giving the impression the whole thing was loosey goosey your getting the picture.
One more tidbit of info. A 30 round mag will not fit anymore becase the mag rubs against the launcher trigger guard and stops it from fully seating.

I sent it back to Bushmaser and got a refund.

the one i just ordered (and should get in next week after a two week wait) is a cobray launcher, so we will see if it fits any better. also, i am installing it on a 20" pencil barrel, if that makes any difference. of course, i will post pics when it comes in.

I ordered one from Bushy a month ago, and got it 2 weeks ago.  It was only on backorder for 2 weeks, I'd call Bushy and see if they still have any.

first thing you learn about 37mm stuff, is you're pretty much on your own.  Mounts and accessories have to be made by you, you're not up to it don't even get into it.  Unless you spend the cash for the real deal.  I suggest LMT, they're not so anti-civilian like Colt.

I worked on the mount for a couple of weeks and got a rock solid fit.  If you bend the trigger guard forward just a bit 30 rd mags work fine.  Takes a little work but 37mm is fun as hell.

Are you the guy who made those mounts??  Rumor over on 37mm was that the guy who made them got picked up by the ATF on weapons charges....

There's one guy at 37.mm that had grooves milled into the top of the launcher rail making it
compatible with a picatinny rail.  Nice, flush and clean looking.
I'm still looking for a machinist to do mine.

What does one have to do in order to own a 40mm? Is it transferrable as a firearm or a destructive device? Is the receiver or barrel the registered part?
7/17/2005 8:03:17 AM EDT
[#24]
40mm is a destructive device, and i think it is just the receiver that is the registered part.

be careful, though, possession of a 37mm with the wrong kind of rounds is considered a destructive device, also.

40mm is a DD.  Same transfer procedure as for full auto.  The reciever is registered.  If you buy a Shivak bare reciever it is not a DD.  File a form 1 to register it as a DD before buying a 40MM barrel.  A Shivak reciever with a smooth bore 37MM is not a DD.  You can go that route before going DD to see if you like it.  I would rather buy a 40MM DD amd be done with it, but then I own machineguns and the process does not intimidate me.  Oh, and you can buy an LMT M203 DD for about half of a Shivak M203.  Happy shopping.

Have LMT for sale the receiver only?
