Simuntion rounds, and I've used them before in the Army, and yeah they are fun. The above poster is correct, too many liability issues. |
| i used to have some... i found em' in the old hospital on fort carson before it was torn down about 5 or 6 years ago. i think they were called "FX" bullets... it was a 9mm casing with a white plastic peice that held a plastic bullet full of paint. i don't know whatever happened to the box i had... |
WOW cool picture!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks I'll be using this as my windows wallpaper..... Those are some pretty thick gloves........I wonder how they shoot with those things on ... that would mean delayed reaction time in the heat of a gunfight.......or maybe not since they are the pros

I used 'em at urban warfare instructor school in Lejeune about a month and a half ago. I think it's just a plain jane 9mm upper with a blue painted bbl. We used clear mags with 30rd cap. It was a 20"er A2. The weird thing is, when we we're cleaning 'em for turn in, it looked like the rifling only went down about 4 or 5 inches from the chamber, been wondering why ever since. Shawn ETA: They hurt like a motherf*&$@er |
There are a bunch more cool pics at militaryphotos.net Those tan gloves are just for the rope out of the helocopter. My buddy has one of those MP5 rap 4 guns. It is very realistic and cool. |
Probably not, especially if it was made by Simmunition. The casing is 9mm, but the round itself is necked down to 7mm. The rifling is only in a portion of the barrel as the round is only using .3 grains of powder plus the primer for momentum. Longer barrel rifling would slow the round down, or even stop it inside the barrel. Yes they hurt, especially if you catch them in the wrong areas. |
NEGATIVE on that Devil Dog. They are not 9 mm and they are not painted for fun. The blue barrel is on their is really to show that it is for simunitions. They are made for the real-life feel of the rifle - yet in training experience. I thought you used them at an INSTRUCTORS course... ??? We used to do ship take down and the instructors would hide in rooms that we were clearing with - FULL AUTO paint ball guns / frozen paint balls and when we went in - if it was not right - they would light our A$$es up.. They do hurt like a MF - er Worse part is cleaning that $hit off of yuor gear when done.--- Kind of like when you are told to shoot blanks... You throw them in the bushes and do " Peanut BUTTER BUTTER BUTTER BUTTER - jam.." |

I stand corrected, thanks Yep, it was an instructors course. But not to be a full fledge Mout facility instructor. t was basically to take it back to your unit and teach what you've learned. Squad Intructor said it was 9mm. They had saws there too, but it was decided that we weren't going to use 'em. All the agressors used modified m9's I guess except for the 8541 Gunny that opted for the rifle instead. |
Take a look at that site. 4000$ browing bfmg knockoffs firing paintballs. DL the vid of the grenade launcher systems. That stuff is wild. at 85 bucks a piece for the grenades and that 5 or six shot street sweeper thing thats maybe 7 or 800 bucks. But at least you can reload the grenades.... |
| Whats the effective range on something like a RAP or the top of the line AEG's? I was under the impression that they were not the best choice for MOUT training because their hits are almost undetectible when wearing full battle rattle. There is certainly some value in drilling some PFC with a 7 mike-mike capsule filled with Tide...it reminds him/her that getting shot hurts and thats a pretty important lesson. |

Kevin B's pics pretty much tell the story. During one training scenario, I "stitched-up" a guy with sim rounds at about 5 feet (the instructor told me to do it, I swear!). He was ready to kill me. I've been hit multiple times...man do they hurt. Fortunately, no hits in the most vital of all areas. Chicks dig the welts, though.

When my unit was up at the Olympics in Utah, we got to be Opfor against two teams of the 19th SF Group (no, I am not claiming to "have trained with SF" we were basically just shooting dummies) We used simunition rounds against each other. Man, those guys kick ass. They took out 5 of our guys for every 1 we took out, and I only got hit in the chest and head, never had any shots hit me in the arms or legs or non vital spots. Everytime we got hit, it was a killing blow. I looked like I fell into a paint vat at the end of the day. |
