I just picked up a wolf buffer spring, it is about 1 1/2 inch longer then my old spring (CAR15 stock) Will i need to cut it down? It seems to fit ok and cycles pretty smooth.

You should be good to go. Check that the bolt will lock back on an empty mag and then start with a mag with one round loaded next time your shoot. Ought to work fine...
