[ARCHIVED THREAD] - The unknown upper receiver

I bought a an A3 upper receiver assembly from a local gun show last year, on the front portion of the flattop there is a M marking, does anybody know who manufactured this upper.

Are you sure it isn't M4?

You may be aware that the M4 is a Colt product

If it is only an M then I do not know

that is a LAR A3 receiver most likely. They have a M above the gas tube hole but no M4 feedramps.
ETA: those are great receivers. I have 2 of those.

What you described is correct, there is an M stamped above the gas tube hole and it doesn't have M4 feed ramps, can you tell what is LAR I never heard of them.

LAR is one of the big guys making uppers/lowers. Their brand is Grizzly but they also make lowers for dpms and Bushmaster (sn with a L). They are top notch quality and u find a lot of them on gun shows as well.
do a search for Grizzly or LAR, few threads should come up.
