I have exactly 500 rounds shot through my Bushmaster...today I noticed that all the casings were being flung forward about 5 feet and about 3-4 feet to the right. Every other time they get flung behind me about 5-7 feet and out about 2 feet to the right. Is there a possible problem with the extractor or could it just be dirty? I clean it after EVERY shooting session. Derek |
| Thy cyclic rate determines in part the direction of the ejection pattern. The ammunition you were using must have had a faster burning powder that operated the action faster. You see this much more on full autos. As the cyclic rate increases the ejection pattern shifts forward. Nothing is wrong with the gun. This condition is also seen but much more noticible when a silencer is put on the muzzle causing more pressure. Sometimes the fired cartridge cases will hit the delta ring. Hope this helps. |
