I am considering purchasing a single-point sling for my M4 at work and using the GG&G Agency adapter to attach it.

I have been considering using a Chalker Sling and the Chalker web adapter (for when wearing armor) instead of a standard single-point sling.

Please educate me on the various single-point slings out there, features I should consider, etc.

Thanks.

You CANNOT beat the KAC style mount, with its ball bearing QD swivel. Some other companies make something similar, too. The old plate and carabiner style setup sucks by comparison.

Caution of the "Tripple Wammy" when using the Chalker sling.  It is a good sling to have while on patrol or standing around ONLY.  The tripple wammy goes like this:

1) Drop the rifle to stranser to handgun, rufle swings between legs and wacks your nuts as you step
2) In-voluntary bend at the waist upon impact and chip front tooth on the rifle butt
3) Take a knee to engage pistol behind cover.  Muzzle digs into ground (acting like a fixed post) and brake nose.

I have seen this happen more than once.  So it's a good thing to have a single point sling that can offset to the side is good.

The more I have used single point, 3 point, and all wizbang slings, the more I have found that the standard "guitar strap" type of sling works best IMHO
