I just got a new Trijicon ACOGM Model TA31.  I wanted to mount the scope to the carrying handle on my Bushmaster M4.  The installation procedure is to place the "special" washer over the lock washer on the screw that protrudes through the carrying handle.  For the life of me, I can not get the screw to engage the threads on the scope in this configuration.  Am I doing something wrong here or is there a trick to this that escapes me?

As always, looking for anyone who has done this seemingly simple installation.  Thanks in advance.

Push the scope all the way down into the carry handle?

I guess if you need a longer screw you can aways drop by your local hardware store.

This should be on the OPTICS FORUM, not here.

Are you absolutely sure your scope is all the way down in the carry handle channel, or as far down as you can get it?  It took a lot of muscle from me to get my TA-31 into position before the screw threads would take hold, and even then the scope was pulled down into the channel a bit as I tightened the screws.  A few taps from a rubber mallet came into play IIRC.

Also, I don't remember there being two sets of washers?  In my install there was only the one lock washer.  I didn't know Trijicon had added a second washer.
