| If you think Colt is the best, what is the 2nd best? Life or death situation, no 6920 in sight, which company's M4 style rifle do you reach for? |
A 6721 ![]() I'd say after that my SA M1A EDIT: To avoid thread jacking, I'd say a Bushmaster M4 type. I loved my Bushmaster previous to my Colt (sold it to buy my 6721) |
Dude, chill, it's just a question. This is ARFCOM, and if you cant say "Colt" without people getting a period, than this forum lost has lost all purpose. Honest question. No smoke and mirror agenda. |
I'm a RRA fan, but even I am getting tired of seeing Colt bashing because that is where I see this thread going. That is all that I meant by my statement. WIZZO |
LOL no offense but when i think of COLT bashers i think of WIZZO. (edit) as for Variables question LMT or Bushie would be nice in my opinion |
This thread is going where you are taking it. This is an honest question so please dont open the door, because the trolls have no problem walking in and being a pain in the ass |
P.S. A 6920 is a nice fall-back rig for my AZEX Izzy-LB clone carbine FAL. After that, I'm prolly pokin' them with a sharp stick.

Not a Colt fan and all my carbines are Bushmaster/ Colt and RRA components so if one of my ARs goes down I have a spare thats built exactly like my primary.Initialy before I got BRD I had the second with the thought in mind that when I take classes its good to have a back up just in case.No matter the AR I trust my skills with this weapon system and feel confident I can keep any AR going. But if my main rifle were down Id go with any AR,AK,FAL,M14 or any other weapon I could get my hands on and use.All my rifles have colt bolts so to a degree I prefer at least this Colt part over others. So to reverse the question if my Bushmaster was nowhere to be found I would get a Colt or whatever else was available..at that point beggers cant be choosers. |
| i dont understand the whole colt vs bushmaster vs armalite vs whoever. i think all the major companies are excellent weapons, while there is junk, everyone knows who they are and do not buy their products. i think the whats better than others is a mute point as they all came from one basic design by a one man who colt did get the rights too, but everyone else duplicated just as well. i think after all this time this would finally be dead. |

Do people deliberatly discount DPMS or is it negligence? Brand loyalty is one thing, but if it isnt a Knight its second best...even if it is a Colt. By a standard Bushy,Colt,RRA, Armalite or DPMS and you will have a good gun. If you can find/afford one, get a Knight and you will have the best. DPMS makes a great product and they should definatly be included in the rickey retardo brand argument. So, if we are going to have a pissing match about which brand is better, lets include all the contenders. If someone can tell me how a quality A2 made with quality parts from Olympic is magically better than an identical rifle made with equal parts by Colt, Id really appreciate it. All of the major AR manufactures that have been around longer than a decade, who aren't fly by night chop shops all make a quality product. Remember, Uncle Sam doesn't have a problem buying the cheapest M16 he can find, as long as its up to his specs, so why should we? The name on the receiver is just that...as long as we are comparing apples to apples...I am comparing rack grade models, not national match/ Camp Perry stuff. Hate to say it guys, your Colt A2 isnt better than an identical A2 made by Olympic or Eagle Arms just because its a Colt. It being made by Colt or Bushmaster doesnt mean that it wont ever jam, get dirty or malfunction. Its a logo, not a magic performance assuring super pony. It will assure you that you overpay for your weapon, though... So its not completely useless |

Following Mil spec. Testing & Quality control are what makes Top notch rifles like COLTs & Knights better than the rest. Bushy,DPMS, RRA etc. do not test their bolts/Barrels/Carriers like Colt & Knights does, That is the Big difference. This is an old issue that never seems to die. To get more info on this do a search of Magnetic Particle (MP) testing, Proof testing & Shot peening Bolts.
