Why are DPMS lowers less expensive. Most folks seem to like them! Just curious. They are forged correct? Same materiel?

DPMS has both forged and cast recievers

thier forged ones usually run the same price as stag, lar, stinger, MEGA, and other "off" brand recievers

avoid the cast revievers (not sure if they still make em, but i know thet they are still out there)

One reason that I am aware of is that, unless specifically ordered, the barrels are not chrome lined.

I have a DPMS unit and it has been quite reliable for me.  YMMV.

Yes I have owned one, and built it up. Their forged lower is fine. They also make a blackened stainless lower (Very cool, but heavy) and a used to make a cast one, but don't know if they still do cast.

They are fine. I would not pay mor ethan $99 for one though, that's the going price around here.

DPMS forged recievers are just like everyone else's. Great. I have had 3, and never had any issues with size or finish.

I have 4 DPMS lowers, two laser engraved.  All have great finish, great machining.  All parts fit and function correctly.  DPMS applys a black teflon coating over the black anodizing to help ensure that the color is even and all uppers and lowers match.

My DPMS is one fine rifle:

Chrome Bolt
T marked
most durable finish compared to RRA, Bushy, and Oly
Profiled barrel

The only downer is the 4140 non-chrome lined barrel, but DPMS does offer the option
