I just traded a friend out of a NIB Colt AR-15.  I was about to order an Ace skeleton stock for it when I happened to notice that the existing stock is approximately 1" shorter than the original stock on my other AR-15 that I recently replaced!  The Colt is marked "AR-15 Lightweight Sporter".  It has a 16" light contour barrel with a factory flash-hider.  My friend says he bought it right before the AWB and has not fired it!  Also, it lacks the raised "fence" around the magazine release.  Any wisdom would be appreciated.

Thanks,  M'rider

Are you sure isn't 5/8" shorter?

+1

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there was an A2 stock on there before, but the one you got is the A1 length which is 5/8" shorter, like Hoplophile said.
