Dang,  how can a company not sell ANY RIFLES in a whole year and stay in business? I know that doesn't include parts but still, I can't imagine a company staying in business like that.

Interesting to see how many more rifles Bushmaster is building than Colt.  I assume the Colt numbers are only for civilian use though.  It would be cool to see the 2003 and 2004 numbers.

hahaha, I like this one.  Anybody know which numbers are restricted to law enforcement and military use only ?

If your question is which of those numbers posted by the BATF are military/LE............ consider that Colt has produced nearly 20 times the total of all of that list combined for military use alone (Colt statistics quoted)..........so I would not be surprised if it were zero.

The point being that since the list excludes military production - perhaps it excludes LE as well.

Not sure if that was your question or not, but it is noteworthy.

Bushy vs Colt is definitely something I was not expecting...

Although with all of Colt's problems I should not have been surprised

It would be nice to see more recent numbers to determine RRA's standing post DEA contract, and how their popularity has affected ABCDO

Two dealers I shop at often dont buy bushy anymore because they dont sell as well or as fast as RRA, which is something I dont think anyone would have anticipated 2 years ago

Everyone's numbers should be up since the ban is dead

That's gotta' be a lot of 10-22's reflected in doc_Zox's post-no wonder there's ten bazillion people making accessories for that thing.

I always thought of ASA as a 'bigger' (not better, just bigger) player than those numbers reflect, too.

How long will it be until 2005 data will be available?  Hopefully, in 2006.

I put this together after culling through 5 years of BATF .PDF files.  2002 is the most recent year released.  Where there are 0s in the chart, BATF had no listing for any rifles manufactured by that company (in a few cases, there were pistols and/or shotguns manufactured that year by that manufacturer).

Technically, the numbers are for all rifles made, so there's no way to know exactly how many were AR15s.  For example, Bushmaster's stats will include the small number of M17s they make, Armalite's will include AR10s, and KAC's will include SR25s.  Hesse made AKs and other types of guns that aren't even AR related.  Still, these give you a good idea of what's going on.

It's way past time to update those numbers.

This Thread should either be updated or allowed to expire.

i wish i could purchase a decent lower.  Darn CA rules.  I'm limited to either a Hesse with a pinned mag or the bushy with the permanent mag inside the lower reciever.
