I'd just purchased a set of handguards off  Gun Broker.com,  the same  dealer has many listings  for the  Bushmasterr M4 handguard.

One  listing says M4 handguard with heat sheilds, his other listings says  M4 handguard  with  double heat sheilds.

I'd order the ones with  double heat sheilds.

Question is, does Bushmaster put out two differnt M4 handguards?

These do have double heatsheilds?

If they're real M4 handguards, they'll have double heat shields.

Thats what Im wondering, if Bushmaster produces  real M4  handguards or not.

Anyone here has a set of them??

Bushmaster only has single heat shield M4 HGs.
Shitty plastic too, if i may add.

Bushmasters M4 Type handguards do have double shields, with two offset rows of vent holes instead of a single in line row like the original Colts.

I just bought some DPMS M4 Handguards from a guy on Gunbroker and they were called "Glacier Guards" they have vertical integrated heat fins molded in the the entire inner portion, they will stand 575 degree's of heat generated by the barrel! They seem to be very heavy duty and stronger I guess the plastic is a glass/nylon reinforced plastic from what I am told hey for $35.00 bucks it seemed like a deal they fit perfectly onto my M4 Bushie!!

I read here recently that Bushmaster was offering a new type of hand-guard for the carbine.

I cannot recall whether the "new" part was double heat-shield, or some other enhancement.

I DO recall CJan_NH commenting on it and offering more technical insight than I have to offer.

I got a couple of sets of the Bushmaster M4 ones about 3 years ago not long after they first released them, and they were as I described above. I dont know if recent ones are any different or not.

The problem with the theory behind the glacier guards as I see it is the heat shields are to keep the heat away from you hands and the fins in th eglacier guards bring it to your hands.

Thanks babob, your input is much appreciated.

Had  to do away with my  4-rail aluminum  handguards, things just got to heavy.

I bought some from Bushmaster a couple weeks ago. They are indeed double heat shielded and of high quality. They're not exactly like the Colt M4 guards, but equally tough and great fitting.
