I hate looking at that block in my blue label 6601.  I know its not illegal to remove it so why not?  Who here has done it and how did you do it?  I did a search for this topic and came up with nothing, so I'll put it out there to all you home-smiths, how to?
Thanks

It depends how many side pins you have. The easiest way would be to use a lathe but if you only have a dremel it can be done. In general if oyu have one side pin... You need to cut the side of the block as close to the receiver as you can get leaving only a paper thin piece of block against the receiver. Then you can peel what is left away from the receiver. Then grab the block with a wrench and wiggle it out. Grind down the center pin and enjoy.

That's exactly how I did mine with the Dremel.  Now I've got a hole in my lower.  WTF  am I going to patch that with?

I have what appears to be only one pin holding it in, on the right side.  Does anything else hold it in?
Thanks

Yes. There is vertical roll pin that extends through the receiver floor into the base of the sear block.
