What causes the buffer spring to twang and how do you fix it?  My Colt rifle has no twang but my DPMS does.  I have had the DPMS for a couple of months now and the twang has been there since I got it.

I must be the only one who does not hear that sound when shooring my AR. I have NEVER heard that sound.

It only happens on 20"ers. It's never happened on the 16"ers I've fired.

My RRA twangs pretty loud, but my brother's Bushy is quieter.

Some people say that you can coat the spring in some sort of axle grease and quiet it down, but I'd hate to see it after it gets gummed up with any kind of dirt and dust.

Just put a Magpul or other collapsable stock with a CAR buffer and spring.

My M16A2 used to sound like a daisy BB gun.

that sound is normal.  Tells you when it's reload time.  enjoy.

'Twang', "Sproing', etc, is normal, learn to love it.  It means all is working as it should.
