Best thing to do is buy as much airsoft stuff as possible, start a "training team", come back here and post as much info as possible about your progress.

Pictures would be helpful too.

Of you and your "team mates".

Honestly, READ through the tech stuff first.

Pure and simple?

Go to your local Army recruiter and tell you want to be MOS 11B.

They will take care of your education in all manner of weaponry, to include but not limited to the M16.

Marines are good, just bear in mind the USMC was originally created so the Army wouldn't have to get their boots wet when invading a foreign land.
