Having sold my Preban receiver to a member in a "Captive" AWB state, I am considering purchasing a new complete Colt AR6721 AR15A3 Tactical Carbine or R6550 AR15A2 "GOVT Model" lower half from SawLESales.com as a replacement. 1. Do these Colt model lower halves have standard takedown pins that will work with My DPMS upper? 2. Are they pushpin or screw in type for the front takedown pin? 3. I realize the FCG pins are larger diameter, but should any incompatibilities be expected with either of these Colt lowers and the DPMS upper which has a Bushmaster Bolt Carrier and group? #2 depends on when it was built (colt mfg vs. colt defense) Make sure you specify that you want the "M16 capture style" front take down pin. I just received my A2 Govt Carbine lower from SAWLEsales. I specified front push pin when i ordered it, and it arrived exactly as described (and when they said it would). SAW can be hard to get ahold of, but are very good to do business with. btw, if you have a colt lower with a small hole for the front take down pin, but it is the screw type, not the capture push pin type, SAW will convert it for you for $45 w |
