So what is next on your build agenda? My next is going to be a 20incher, with a 12.0 ff rail, 1/7 inch barrel, flattop with an ACOG.
3/4/2005 7:40:44 AM EDT
[#1]
Something with the giffmann midlength 1/7 barrel that should be here very soon.  I am looking for a KAC midlength tube for it, but haven't had much luck.

A non-M4 Carbine, whenever I can find a barrel.
3/4/2005 8:27:28 AM EDT
[#3]
I am reworking a 20" A2 post-ban Bushy.  I removed the barrel and FSB... its off to a machinist to get turned and threaded.   I think I am going to buy a flat top upper, gas block, and FF railed handguard.  I'll probably put an Aimpoint with BUIS up top... might even buy a VLTOR clubfoot standard stock.

Changing a National Match A2 into a National Match A4.  Then, a dedicated varmint rig.  MJD

Someone, Anyone, want to donate to the tactical rifle build relieve fund?

Its a tossup:

Either another FAL with lightweight DSA lower and a turned down 14.5"bbl w/perm attached FH

Or:
an "original style" XM177, I'd probably also send that bbl to be turned down too (I'm stuck on the lightweight thing lately)

ETA:
I'm leaning towards the car since FAL receivers and US parts are scarce right now., and of course I'll eventually.....BUILD BOTH!

!!!!???????!!!!!

No kidding?  There really is a .50 mod for the AR platform?  Where do I find out more about this?

ETA: I'm in the "thinkin'" stage right now.  Do I want to build a 20" rifle, or just a 9mm upper...?  Don't know yet.
3/4/2005 10:57:43 AM EDT
[#11]
There are a few 50 BMG uppers out there, IIRC.

I'm just finishing up what is, for now, my only AR; 20" A2 with chrome lined 1/7 gov't profile.

Next up is probably going to involve a Cavarms midlength upper, assuming there are any more around within my lifetime.

LOOK AT (SEARCH FOR) WATSONS WEAPONS. I THINK THEY HAVE WON SEVERAL COMPITITIONS WITH THEM. JUST FUNNY LOOKING THOUGH............

Wow!  I'm fascinated...sort of the way a bird is fascinated by a cobra just before it strikes.  I though I'd seen just about everything before this afternoon.

OH wait a minute! Nobody mentioned FALs.  I am in the middle of a SA/Imbel build, with many layers of camo, and I have a Belgian and a "tactical" () carbine, builds. But, I'm still waiting on a couple DCI receivers, that I ordered, and paid for, last Sept.

My 11th. AR will be a AR pistol.

Just to see what it is all about...fun or waste.

Stay tuned, may take awhile.

Danny

P.S. Not as long as my sbr I hope.

I want to Dremel down a LaRue 7.0 to fit my 633.   Not really a "build", but no one's done it yet with a LaRue as far as I know.

Trying to decide if it's gonna be a M4 type or M16A4 style setup. Really like the A4, but I don't wanna be the only jack-ass running around with a 16" bbl, collapsible stock AR-10 and a full stock 20" AR-15
3/4/2005 9:15:19 PM EDT
[#27]
This.........

Kinda on hold right now,. I may throw a LMT copy stock on it and call it done or I may chuck the DD tube up in the lathe chop it down to look just like this but with a 1/7 11.5 barrel.......

3/4/2005 10:33:09 PM EDT

Nothing fancy. A Cav Arms coyote lower, 16" M4gery upper, carry handle iron sights, ambi safety and mag catch. Maybe a trigger job.
3/4/2005 10:44:55 PM EDT
[#34]
xm177 clone

Actually just a pencil  A1 shorty.
3/5/2005 4:17:15 AM EDT
[#36]
I have a Colt AR15A2 HBAR that never get's shot.....so I'm turning it into a simple mid-length carbine.

-16" mid-length Giffman Group Buy barrel

-A set of Coyote Cav Arms mid-length handguards (M4 profile)

-Tango Down Coyote Battle Grip

-Magpul M93AR Coyote stock

-Magpul enhanced trigger guard

-and probably a Wilderness Coyote 3 point Giles Sling

3/5/2005 5:25:44 AM EDT
[#37]
well, since my first one is gonna be a 16" M4gery...my second will be either a 20" A2 or A1...
3/5/2005 5:27:22 AM EDT
[#38]
I'm scared to build. Is it that difficult? I know I could learn on here, just wondering........
3/5/2005 5:29:41 AM EDT
[#39]
Hey guys kind of new. But I am starting my first build here this next week. I am going to be building a pretty plain 16" with crome internals. Model 1 upper ( hope I have no problems with customer service), and ameetech lower.
3/5/2005 5:57:05 AM EDT
[#40]
I have a 16" now so my next one will be a 20".  I haven't decided if I'm going to build a basic service rifle, or one with a scope and all the goodies yet.  I'm going to pick up my stag lower that just came in today so at least that part is done.
3/5/2005 6:04:52 AM EDT
[#41]
9mm, probably build up an RRA flatop.
3/5/2005 6:21:59 AM EDT
[#42]
A roast beef sandwich
3/5/2005 10:41:14 AM EDT
[#43]
I'm going to do an ACE stocked, 16" pencil thin BBL lightweight carbine for the wife, Moly-resin'ed in greys and black, and then I might actually think about doing a 6.8SPC for me...I should be able to get 20 rounds for it by deer season...maybe...with luck.

Flattop upper with an A1 barrel (for light weight---and yeah, I can live with 1:12) and full length A2 round handguards. Stag lower with M4 style collaspsable stock. T168 scope with a folding BUIS (not sure which one yet). A little rail section screwed on with a forward broomhandle grip, probably sitting towards the rear of the handguards to allow the forward section to be laid up on a barrier if necessary while firing. My own DMR (sort of), light weight, full size, somewhat compact rifle with optics!

Well a 20" is next on my list but I can't decide between a M16A4gery (with ACOG) or a SAM-R forgery. I'm really leaning torwords the SAM-R but when I start pricing it out the way I would want it, well let's just say OUCH!

Kreiger barrel SS match barrel (coated black), GG&G flip up site\gas block, DD or LaRue 12.0 rail, Leupold or Nightforce scope, LaRue SPR scope mount, Colt bolt and M16 carrier, etc... anyway depending on lower, stock and other options, it prices out to ~$3000. Let's just say this one will take some time to piece together!
3/5/2005 3:57:04 PM EDT
[#47]
I"m thinking of  swaping the 16" barrel out of my dissipator and installing a 20" barrel in its place..

BTW anyone know where you can get a 1/7 twist 20" gov profile barrel?

Thanks,,

SPR Clone.

I have a RRA lower already, just waiting to get enough $$$ together for more parts.  Wife came back from Borders today with $250 in books!

ETA: I'm still trying to decide between 6.8SPC and 5.56
