Finally took a picture of my new ARs that I purchased recently....a Colt LE6920 and Colt LE6721. Sorry about the poor picture quality but it's the best I can do with my current camera. Haven't purchased anything other than mags....still trying to decide on slings and optics. I have a Hakko I'm going to try but will probably go with something different when I have a little extra cash. http://home.comcast.net/~patricia.coombs/Guns/AR15s.jpg Hope to be able to shoot this weekend. |
| Haven't shot either but my first choice (and first purchase) was the 6721 because I like the slimmer handguard also. Everyone kept telling me that the 6920 was "the" gun to buy and was VERY popular so I went back the next day and purchased it also. One has the 1/9 twist while the other has the 1/7 twist so I liked the idea that at least they were a bit different. |

I paid too much for the 6920 but I didn't want to wait any longer........I'm not LE and as such didn't want to run the risk of not being able to find one when I wanted it. LE6721 -- $1150 + tax = $1244 (edited to correct price to $1150 + $94 tax = $1244...sorry about the wrong price and tax amount) LE 6920 -- $1299 + tax = $1406 ($1299 + $107 tax = $1406) Sales tax in Dallas county - 8.25%; Sales tax in Denton county is a little lower |
I don't mean to be a stickler for details, but how come there is $195 tax on the LE6721, and only $107 tax on the more expensive LE6920? Nice rifles BTW WIZZO |

Sorry about the error in the prices........I've corrected the one that was wrong in my ABOVE POST.......sales tax paid in Dallas county is 8.25% which is why I purhase some of my more expensive guns on the net and have them shipped to my FFL. If shipping + FFL fee ($15) is quite a bit less I'll order (but only from dealers I trust are selling me brand new guns....I have a few that I know are honest or have been up to this point). Funny thing about the LE6721.....the only other dealer that had one wanted $1495.......I went back to the guy I bought mine from and showed him a price from an out of state dealer (not that they probably had any in stock) and asked if it was the best he could do and he went down from $1195 to $1150. Each dealer only had one of them. I hope to remove the carry handle and put on an optic but still not sure which one. Yes, I just noticed that the carry handle was a little far back.....I'll at least change that......thanks. |
.... or you could support your local dealer so he will still be in business tomorrow when you want to drop by and pick something up.... btw, i also prefer the 6721. slim handguards... non-M4 bbl... and marked Tactical Carbine, not LE carbine... but that's just me.... w |

rockytherotty -- OK OK....no Hakko (I just happened to have one that I could use). I'll search for the "OPTIC SOLUTION" this weekend. I know NOTHING about AR15s and so I'll have to do some research so that I get it right the FIRST TIME. Will have to read up on scopes, mounts/rails, etc. WileyMcNasty -- I agree. I purchase bunches of handguns from 2-3 local dealers but once in awhile they don't have what I want and aren't real interested in trying to find the particular gun so I go internet. Doesn't happen much but it does happen. I need the local guys here to stay in business so that when I get the "urge" I can just run down the street and pick up what I want (I HATE waiting). |
| OHHHHHHHHHHH....my head hurts!!!! Just finished reading the stickies on OPTICS and BUIS!!! Great information but now I KNOW it will be awhile before I can decide what to do. So much to learn........ hinking.gif |

gunney -- I'm certainly leaning towards EOTECH and will look into the 512 model. For your 6721 did you also purhcase a rear BUIS??? Did the EOTECH require a mount??? Got any pictures of your 6721 with your EOTECH on it? Sorry for all the questions. I won't be shooting my ARs much and as such don't want to spend a ton of $$ on the optics but I want a good one and the EOTECH seems to be nice. Thanks |

Congrats! I love my 6920, the biggest problem now is deciding which rail system to use. I like the Larue, but there are some really good buys on KAC RAS II's leftover from the SHOT show. I put an Aimpoint M2 in an ARMS mount on mine and it's just the ticket for speed on man sized targets out to 200 yards. The Aimpoint takes some practice to hit smaller targets out past 250 yards. I think for distance, I'd rather have an ACOG, but the speed on target of the Aimoint is hard to beat. Enjoy your new toys. |
Installed GG&G BUIS. Fits perfectly with the Eotech; even cowitnesses. Arms 40L will fit same way. Sorry, No pics. |

Thanks gunney!!!! Today I saw a guy at the range who had the Trij AGOG TA31 and a GG&G rear BUIS. I don't want to pay that much for a scope so the Trij is out but I think I'll get the GG&G rear BUIS, especially since you seem to like it and I'll probably go ahead and get the EOTECH 512. Still looking at AIMPOINT but I think EOTECH is probably the way to go for me. Thanks for all the info. I went to the range today and shot an AR for the first time. I must say I wasn't too good but then again it was a 2 lane indoor rifle bay with horrible lighting....really sort of pathetic but better than nothing. The handgun range is great and I knew the rifle range was small but I didn't know it was THAT small. But just to try out the rifles, I felt more comfortable going to my handgun range. I'd like to now go to an outdoor range. I need to get my scope ordered. Anyway, the ARs are great fun....I think I'm going to enjoy them alot!!! Once I get my accessories I'll post some new pictures. Oh....both the LE6721 and LE6920 were flawless, not one little hiccup...wish I could say the same about my shooting skills (or lack thereof)!!!! h.gif |
