I ordered a complete Colt 6520 upper from Gundealer3 off the EE.  I noticed that the bolt that came with it isn't proofed with the MPC;  is there a logical reason for this, or was the bolt changed out...I've never seen a Colt bolt w/o this proof mark

The model you bought should have a MPC marked bolt.

Are there any markings at all?

The "MPC" is sometimes difficult to detect.  I'm guessing it's there.  Try using a magnifying glass under a bright light?

All Colt bolts should be marked MPC.

very true

Those markings are almost imperceptible on some. I mean very, very, lightly marked.

You should'nt need a magnifying glass, they are very clearly marked.

The one I got from Gundealer3 is marked with a "C".  I could not find any "MP" at all.

Really? Then how come I owned an SP1 for 15 years before I even knew there WAS a marking?  Many of the Colt bolts; especially the ones headed for the civie market, historically had the very light marks.  I will agree though, that all the military pieces I've ever seen were clearly marked.

It looks like a faint 'C' on my bolt.....they come according to SAW's website MPC or C.....

Some current manufacture Colt's MFG CO INC bolts are only marked C.
