I have a great condition preban Colt Sporter Target Model, 20"bbl. (I got it before the ban expired, thinking it wouldn't, and that I was gonna screwed if I didn't ). I want to get a 16" M4-gery, bipod, scope, and all that. Eventually, it will be used for my Urban Patrol Rifle when I get hired as an LEO in a few years.

Should I -

Sell my AR15 for the shorty AR?
Keep my old AR as a safe queen, and buy the shorty?
Make the old one my M4gery, and use the original lower?

I need some ideas here boys, summer is coming fast, and I want to be ready for the shooting season!

don't ever sell a gun to fund another....learned that the hard way.  Since you already have a good lower, buy your M4gery in pieces when you can afford them.  A complete upper will only set you back $450, and you can use it on your current lower.  When you have an additional hundred bucks to blow, get a stripped lower.  A month later, get the grip and stock you want....so on and so on...If you sell what you have, you're gonna regret it!

Yes get both, every one I have ever sold/traded in I have missed. Its like that girlfriend you did not like until you saw her with your buddy. I say keep them all (Guns not girlfriends).

Keep that pre-ban Colt and buy another one for your carbine/patrol rifle.
