Well, I took the plunge and lost my AR15 virginity today. Wow- Took a road trip through the rather nasty weather down to Impact Guns in Ogden, where I've been eyeing a 20" A3 on their website. So I picked it up... with a few added extras :) MY FIRST AR15: Bushmaster XM15-E2S 20 In. 1/9 Hbar Barrell 3-9x40 Bushnell Mil-Dot Scope (On Louapold Rings / Endcaps) Versapod Bi-Pod http://www.angeltowns.com/town/spector0/TheAshow/DSCN1305.jpg http://www.angeltowns.com/town/spector0/TheAshow/DSCN1301.jpg I need a Rail Riser for the scope (It's hard to cock with the right hand due to the scope) but other than that, I'm pretty happy. I had it bore-sighted today for 600 meters. Now I just have to sight it in :) |

Nice rig, Chicken. I love the looks of the 20, and hope to add one to my case sometime. (hopefully this year) Take a look at the Marines M16-A4 set-up sometime, and see the configurations they use with them. I think it could provide you some insight as to the most useful configuration for you. The set-up you have now is very sweet, and congratulations on the new Bushy! look forward to hearing about your range report on that bad boy!! |
That's what I was thinking, but when the feet are down it looks right. |
If the feet fold forward they don't get in the way of you gripping the forearm while carrying the rifle or shooting it offhand. Otherwise you have to slip your hand between the legs of the bipod and the furniture every time you grab the rifle. |
