| I had a heavy flat top upper built by a guy who has a exellent reputation. It's made from a Hart 1-7 benchrest quality barrel. I can't get this thing to shoot better than 1 inch groups at 100 yds. I've tried every powder and bullet you can think of. I've even tried a different lower. I had it out last week with my buddy and he noticed a small puff of smoke coming from the gas block every time I fired (I could never see it while looking through the scope). My first thought was that this would not affect accuracy but now I'm having second thoughts. Could this be my problem? |

Welcome aboard You may want to check the flash hider. If it is over torque it can hurt accuracy. Just remove it and take the rifle out and shoot it. If your groups improve reinstall the flash hider and just install it hand tight and secure it with RED loctite. Over torque on the threads at the muzzle can distort it. Denny |

Maybe a stupid question, but what kind of trigger you running? If it's a stock trigger, 1" groups are pretty good. Also, until you machine rest it, you have no idea of the capability of the rifle by itself. Before I express disappointment at a gun, I put it in a rest and see what it does without human intervention. |
