I have a voltar tube, spring, buffer atm and would like to know if a 9mm buffer would work with my setup, if it would reduce the recoil at all. i know i know .223 aint much on recoil but i want minimum recoil for follow up shots.

I'll help a brotha out.

I bought a 9mm steel buffer for my RRA 6 pos. at a gunshow because I heard that it would aid in extraction with the carbine gas system.

Now, as far as recoil goes, I noticed that it isn't as sharp, but it does seem to PUSH backwards more.

I wouldn't suggest getting one for reduced recoil or less muzzle rise, though. It didn't help much on that.

I would consider getting one for better extraction for your carbine though.

I'll jump on with another question......

I have a Colt Blue lable I have occasional prob with short stroking (eject spent case but fail to grab one out of magazine....result empty chamber).  I wonder if the heavier buffer would help build more rearward pressure/force by keeping bolt in battery ever so slightly longer thus making a more powerful ejection and feed scenario....or would the additional forward pressure just rob the BC of that much more energy for positive ejection?

Anyone?
