Hello guys I am new here. I am interested in getting another AR. I had a Bushy DCM which I was forced to sell a couple of years back due to money troubles. It was a great rifle but I would like to go a little cheaper this time. Now that I am back in the market I see that many of you recommend building your own rifles and it seems that you are getting better, more accurate and well equipped rifles for less $. Back then I paid around $1100-1200 for the DCM. From what I see here many of you have built rifles for under a grand which would probably outshoot my old Bushy. I am interested in building a target or varmint type rifle that would be very accurate. Any recommendations on parts would be very appreciated. Maybe even a full list of parts needed to build a complete rifle if possible since I have never built one from scratch before. Thanks.

Here is a good start on the lower.....
AR15.com lower receiver assembly

You can buy complete uppers to just pin down on top of them.

Stag Arms Stripped Lower Receiver  $85
RRA Lower Receiver Parts Kit $65
RRA M4 6-Position Buttstock $65
RRA CAR A4 No-Ban 16" Chrome Lined Mid Length Flattop Upper $429

Total comes to $644 before shipping, taxes, and tranfer fees.  If you search, you can find even better deals.  I think CMMG or Del-Ton have got some great prices going.

CMMG especially has a good reputation here.  I've ordered from them before, great service with low prices.
