I did a search but didn't come up with anything.

I am looking for feedback on Mega Lower Receivers.

Try a 30day or 3 month search using only "Mega".

Why did you look at the post???

I tired to do a search and came up with nothing.  I'm talking with someone about building me a CMP Rifle and they said they use Mega Receivers.  Not being familiar with them, I'm asking.  If you don't like it, don't read the thread.  But keep your freaking comments to yourself!

Try the a 3 month search in the AR15 forum on just "mega".  It'll get you a good start on what you are looking for.  If you want specifics, come back and ask.

I bought three.  All three are great.  Two are finished, the third, I can't afford to build yet.  The only flaw I could find was a two small finish flaws on the inside of.....I think.... the safety hole.  Probably from wire holding the lower for finish work.   Other than that, they look fantastic, and were as easy or easier to build than my Bushmaster lower.  Mags drop free on all threee.  I like the gator grip on the front better than the smooth on my Bushie, and I paid half as much!

I have had zero problems with mine.

It resides underneath a RRA upper and fits nice and tight. But not to tight...can still get the take-down pins out with my fingers, I plan on building another rifle with another mega lower.

I watched the forum for a long time and when it appeared everyone was totally in love with Mega lowers I ordered two and have had problems with both.  Front pivot pins were undersized and tight mag wells.  I drilled out the pivot pins(wouldn't do that again) rather than all the hassle with return.  Used the first one with Colt mags on a 204 build and it is OK but having problems with 2nd with 6.5 Grendel mags.  Based on what I've seen posted I would say you have a 99+ % chance you will get a good one and get responsive service but if you get the 1% like I did you will be 100% pissed.  Not flaming anyone just telling it exactly the way it  is.

How do you do a 3 month search?  The longest option i see is 30 days.

Nope, I appreciate the honesty.  It's the percentage of the bad ones I'm looking for.

Thanks for the opinions and feedback everyone.

I know there is a Mega post about magwell problems less than 7 days old. They had a bad batch but all the others seem just fine. I have a Mega lower on a CMMG upper and couldn't be happier.

Become a Bronze member........

I have two Mega matched upper and lower receivers with no issues.

But as with anything, YMMV.  Every company has put out a few bad products in its lifetime.

My friends and I have all been very satisfied with ours.  I'm about to buy a few more.

I just got off the phone with Lane at Mega Machine Shop concerning the Mega lowers.  I explained to him my problems that appear to be a combination of tolerances. I also told him by the time I dissasemble the lower, package it for shipment, charter a plane to fly it out of here and await its returrn I would prefer to buy another one that works.  He agreed to purchase both types of magazines I am having problems with (7.62x39 AR mag from Cheaper  Than Dirt  & 6.5 Grendel Mag from AA) and test both on a new lower before it was sent to me.  Hard to beat that from a customer service perspective.  Will update on the progress.
He also answered another question I had by saying that they had seen feed problems on oversize mag wells.

The only problems I'v ehad have been dimensional problems with the grip tang area.

A2 grip fits perfectly.  Hogue fits, but barely.  TangoDown Battlegrip does not fit

edit: i have two with seq. serial #s, both 06xx, and both exhibit the problem.

Other than tha tI am really pleased with them.

Does your TD grip fit on any lowers?  I had to break out a file and a razor to get one to fit on my Colt lower.

It does not fit on a Sendra from way back .. but I think the Sendra is slightly out of spec as well.

I posted a whole thread on this and some other guy posted that TD BG did not work with his MEGA either.

I dont know anybody else (in town) with an AR so I can't check

Mine sits under an RRA upper. No problems at all. I got mine from Clinton at carricozarmory.com

I recommend him for business.
