Can this sling mount be purchased seperately anywhere?  I have a bushmaster and would like to get  one for it.

Bushmaster sells it HERE No idea if another vendor has it cheaper.

It looks identical to the Colt mount.

RRA sells a side sling mount that is pretty much identical to the Colt mount but much cheaper.  Adco, Eagle Firearms or one of the other RRA resellers may have it cheaper.

There are some 6920 take-off's in the EE.

Hope the link works...

Colt Side Sling Adapters

I'm thinking of ordering one this payday. Lots of good reviews on the item.

Hope this helps. By the way, there is a picture of one unmounted on the link.

+1 on the RRA from ADCO. I have one and it is really nice.

By the way, anyone know how to keep them from turning on the bbl?

I have the Steel side sling mount I brought off of bushmaster and had it in stalled at bushmaster. It looks the same as colts except for the back peice is made for a A2 and A1. When I got my upper back from bushmaster it was lose, its not tight tot he barrel and moves back and forth. Are the colts the same way?Steel Side Sling Mount

My Bushie steel version was just like the military version, was two sided and could be used on an Hbar or the thinner barrel profile.  It did not wiggle.  I later got a Colt side-sling swivel that is one sided for the Hbar only and it wiggles.

mine moves back and forth too, but I don't care of it

I know my RRA is a slightly loose fit on Bushy HB's, had heard the same about the Bushy and Colt.
Something about the design and it's "supposed" to have a little slop in it. I don't like it cause it'll eventually wear the finish, so I hope someone has a solution for it!

Mattdawg: I just posted a question in Troubleshooting, maybe we can both get some help from it.

As for removing the old sling mount, just knock out the roll pin and be done with it?

Brav tac, has them for around 20 bucks.  there not colt but fit a 6721 barrel well enough. there is some rotation. If it bothers you maybe some black electrical type from 3M would help

I've got a 'real' Colt part from SAW on a Colt A2 barrel and I've got a couple of RRA parts on FN A2 barrels and the fit is the same on all of them.  The RRA swivels cost about half what I paid for the Colt.

I have both a Colt and RRA side sling swivel and I can't tell the difference between them.

That's sexy...where'd you get that loop?  And, what size roll pin did you use?

Thanks,
I made it myself out of a piece of steel.
I run a 3 point sling and the rifle hangs much better compared to the standard swivel.
Sorry, can't recall the exact size of roll pin.
