I took my Sporter II lower, added the Fulton Armory Slick Side upper with the Colt A1 Barrel. I found the A1 Hand Guards/Grip/Stock on the web.

The Fulton Armory Upper is sweet! It fit the lower perfect and no rattle.
I might just buy another one of these barrels to keep in the safe for another project/rainy day

Lightest Rifle I own now, it reminds me of my basic days...

Very nice CB1.

That looks as genuine as they come.

I find it interesting to compare the AR/M16 from the early era to today's options. One day I to will have an original, or replica A1 set-up

Thanks for the inspiration.

Very nice indeed.  My first AR-15 was a SP1 that I bought new in 1981.  I paid $425 for it back then.  It remains one of my favorites despite adding to my collection over the years.  I don't ever see me getting rid of it for any reason.

so what's the twist on that barrel? Just wondering if you went with standard or a more modern like 1/9?

Either waylooks good. I'll have something close to that before long

Fulton Armory advertises it at being 1/12. Nothing on the barrel except:

C MP Chrome Bore.

It also looks like it has a chrome chamber also. very silvery inside.

you might want to change the delta ring for a flat one.

but I don't care for the flat delta ring. I like the A2 better.

"Old school" is making a comeback. I think more people are getting into it because of the availability of  M16 A1 uppers and no BS bans to contend with.

i think ar people are getting back to what the ar15 was...a liteweight basic rifle (6 lbs) versus the techo/tactical 10+ lbs carbines.....gadgets are fine for operators, but for most of us plinkers...all that stuff hanging off makes shooting a chore instead of a pleasure.....at least for me.

It's an American Classic!  It's in the same league with Baseball, Harley-Davidson, '65 Mustang, James Dean, the 1911, and the Zippo Lighter.

I'm working on an old school clone and ... if you don't have one in your collection ...  get one ...
Damnit !

BTW CB1 great looking rifle!!

I remember a couple yrs ago dude being burried on his Harley.. Why can't you toss the rifle in for good measure?
