I'm having new barrel put on my AR.  It's going to be a 16" HBAR.  Now the question is whether to go with an unthreaded muzzle or a threaded muzzle with an A2 flashider.  I'm not LE and I don't forsee SHTF or zombies in my neighborhood anytime soon.  What are the pros and cons?  I know you guys have opinions, so let's hear them.

A2 flash hiders or compensators keep the flash and muzzle down even in an HBAR.I went 14.5 HBAR with phanto because I wanted the shortest possible with no SBR paperwork and the phantom virtualy eliminates flash..a true flash hider. There is realy no negatives to having a flash hider unless its not doing what its name implies..besides you live in a state where there is no home grown AWB laws so get it looking as close as you can for the real thing for usefulness and looks

There are several reasons to have an effective FS and the first time you fire your AR in a low light situation you'll understand how important that FS is...  If you consider your AR a bench/range/safe queen used during daylight hours only you won't miss the FS.  If you consider your AR a weapon, you'll want to consider flash suppression...

There is no draw-back to the FH, only positive.

Before I installed a FH on my 16" barrel, I was seeing a grapefruit sized flash with Q3131A.
Now that I have a Phantom FH, I might see a spark or two.
