I have a couple of 14.5" (+ permenately affixed Phantoms) and I want to add a railed mounting handguard.  I have seen the Samco (Sp?) and was not impressed and the Surefire rail I have played with some as well (much better..).  I see alot of talk about LaRue and Daniel Defense here and wanted to know the differences.

which one is better, or is there something even better that I havent thought of?  I would like to have the barrel free-floated but I can not and will not remove the flashhiders or FSB to do so.  What are my options now?

[(btw...) Killed a nice little 8-point buck with my 14.5"  1/7 Bushmaster barrelled AR with a 552 EoTech  at ~80-85 yards, using 75 grain Hornady ammo, on Saturday   :) ]

If you can't or won't remove the flash hider then you can't use the DD or the LaRue.

You can use the ARMS SIR to float the barrel, and there may be others. But most one piece float tubes require removing everything up front.

If you don't want to mess around with have the flash hider removed and reinstalled then your options are:

Troy MRF (FF)
KAC RAS or RIS (non-FF)
KAC RAS II (FF)
ARMS SIR (FF)
Surefire (non-FF)
YHM 2-piece (non-FF)
