Hey, Has anyone use one of those laser sight in tools where you place a dummy round which has a laser built into it. I'm not talking about long distance sight in but for say 100 or 200? Just curious. |

see third to last post at post Had a bore sighter tool, not a cartridge type |
Interesting, was wondering if the cartridge was any good. |
| I have an Aimshot in the .223 cartridge-shaped arbor, and I'm not wild for it. You can only use it in dim light, and the longer the distance, the dimmer the light. Also, the dot spreads out into a biggish disk at 100+ yards. Indoors, however, it makes a fun cat toy. |
Ok, sounds like back to the standard way of sighting something new in. Fire some rounds down range. Thanks guys, you've saved me some bucks once again. Happy Holiday's everyone. |
| I use the laser on my BLAST to bore sight. Remove the upper with the laser and the scope attached. I set mine on the edge of the counter. Removing the rail covers from the bottom rail provides a rigid base fo the upper to sit on. I point the barrel out the window and aim it against my neighbors house which is slightly under 100 yards away. I first bore sight the laser. This is easy because there is no need to move your eye from the bore while adjusting the laser POI. One the laser is dialed in, zero the scope POI to the laser POI. Done. Still need some fine tuning at the range, but its damn close.... |

i got one once. it was the ssi i think. for sure it was a .223 catridge and that thing would move!!! once seated in the bore you could still move it around and point of impact would move. lets say i kept trying to sight in my scope using this piece of crap and turn the dials till they stopped! good thing i bought it at walmart and was able to return it. scope was close to fubar after that. i like the boresighters that go into the muzzle. but then there's some that would say you could fubar your crown
