Does the Bolt Carrier suppose to have some kind of a stainless insert where the bolt goes?
Semi circle in the back?
Has a C stamp only?
Non-shrouded firing pin on the bottom?

inside at the opening where you push in and/or remove the bolt, mine is not a solid piece but there's somekind of a ring insert around the hole.
can you post picture? i can e-mail it to you so you can get a better idea what I'm taking about.

inside of the carrier is chrome lined. this can be the stainless steel your thinking of. My carrier is the same as you are talking about. It a std Colt carrier.

The shiney part inside your carrier where the bolt sits is a CHROME LINING.

Here's a couple of mine. BC is properly chrome lined.
