I swapped out my pinned stock for a new Colt M-4 collaspable stock. Does the old, fixed stock have any parts value? It has the H Buffer & Spring. Could the stock be used after it's taken off the buffer tube? |

There are some guys on this forum who would buy it off you (believe it or not), some people like it cause it is tight and has no play init like a real collapsible. Also, dont think the stock would work on another tube, cause the thing you pull to adjust it is bolted on and has no spring; maybee you can convert this though? Good Luck |

Yes, some people will buy the stock and buffer. I'll buy the Colt spring if it's a low round count. More info Glenn R. |

One of the arfcom members posted a detailed description (w/pics, I think) of how he converted his MT6400c fixed stock to a fully operating collapsable stock, back in the spring, IIRC. Unfortunately the search feature won't go back near that far. His method involved cutting the receiver extension (buffer tube) to the collapsable length and drilling holes for the positioning of the slider, among other things. It seemed to work just fine. Perhaps, if he's still around, he might provide a link or repeat his info? HTH |
| Thanks guys for the info. Rocky, if your buddy wants it, I'll trade it straight across for a complete A1 or A2 stock. Mine complete as well with the H Buffer, Tube, Spring, etc. The castle nut is scratched though as Colt pinned it and it was scuffed when I replaced it with my M4 stock. |
