not what i carried by a long shot. We had FN 20" 3 shot burst (muskets is what the 3ID and 82nd guys called em) A2s. Great rifles. Just had to keep em good and lubed. Oh, they were all two tone by the way. Kind of a chocolate color upper. Anyway, no trigger time for me while in country. I was a driver. But the guys in my Vehicle? Well, i will just say i have lost some hearing due to loud reports. Maybe not so much the 16-but definitley because of the 50. Yall might find this interesting--My squad leader cleared a jammed bolt by holding the barrel and trying to plant the stock. It was a heat of the moment kinda thing, but it worked. (he had enough sense to keep the muzzle clear) The whole time i was on convoy duty, i dreamed of a m4 type. The "Musket" just does not lend itself to that task. I havent shot my carbine yet- but im in no hurry either. Just gonna take my time and get some xm193 together over the next few days. |
