I just recently bought a colt match target hbar ar15 with a 20” barrel it doesn’t have a flat top receiver. My question is, is it worth mounting optics on the fixed carry handle or should I look for a new upper.
2nd question is their any upgrades you might suggest?

I would upgrade to a new A3 receiver.

i changed all my A2 upper's out to A3(flat top).trying to mount an optic on an A2 put the optic too high for me

Get a flat top upper, keep the second one for back up.
