Double Star Corp is the same people as J&T Distributing, www.jtdistributing.com. Their barrels are made by E.R.Shaw. They are available in plain chromemoly or chrome lined. Don't know who makes their receivers, but they appear to be of very good quality and nicely finished. I have purchased two rifle kits, two upper receivers, a barrel, and numberous small parts. All appeared to be top quality. The kits have functioned flawlessly. They ship quickly, next day, and parts are well packed. I intend to continue to do business with them. |
| I use Double star lowers and J&T Dist. products. I have bushmaster colt and Doublestar. I can say from expierence that they are very reasonable to deal with and have a wonderful product for a great value. I would also say as accurate or more accurate than my bushmaster or colt! |
| I got a 16" CAR barrel from them some time ago, within a week of getting it the damn thing started to rust through the parkerizing between the muzzle and the FSB. (This was before I even put it on a receiver or fired it) It looked like it was rusting from the inside out. I believe that it must have been dirty or somehting when it was parkerized so it did'nt take ? I don't know, but I had to return it. IMHO, POS! I'll stick with Bushmaster barrels for now on. Next I got a DPMS chrome bolt carrier from them, it looked like a kid made it in metal shop. It had the worst finish on it I've ever seen (file marks rough machine marks, etc.) I went to return that and they did'nt even have anymore, so that just confirmed my suspisions of getting that BC from the bottom of the barrel. I did buy some other parts from them off & on for the last few years but after those two crappy things I got from them, I've done my business with other people here on ARFCOM. |
| I got a DSC A4 upper with a 20" 1-8 stainless (option not mentioned in the previous post) bull barrel 9ER Shaw) and free floated HG a couple months ago, and it has amazed me! For far far less that the ABC's, I was grouping 3 shots @ 100yards that could all be hidden penny! I know DSC isn't a big time name brand, but I've already got a couple Colt's and LMT's. I have nothing but positives to say about DSC (aka J&T). |

I've purchased a couple of kits from J&T, a complete upper, and a couple of DSC stripped lowers. The lowers are among the best that I have seen, and the kits were great. Plus, their customer service is great... You'll be happy with what you get and, if there is a problem for whatever reason, you'll be happy in how it's fixed... |
| I carried a Double Star shorty (11.5" barrel) here in Iraq for three months with my first company. It functioned fine with no problems. It did seem that the anodizing or parkerizing on the take down pins wore away extremely quickly, but I view that as more of an aesthetic issue. |

got a 16" M4gery and a 20" A2 from Doublestar. Love 'em. Literally thousands of rounds thru them, and I can't recall a single failure. The fella who was complaining about the DPMS chrome carrier? It was a DPMS part, not a DSC. (the barrel rusting sounds like a bad park job...I'd gripe about that too, but the big question is, did they make it right? Every manufacturer has turned out some lemons) Customer service with DSC has been fantastic in my experience with them, and I'll definately be buying from them again...like Friday! (Funshow!) |
| I have a JT A2 rifle Kit. DSC is the same as a JT kit plus most any lower reciever. Mine has been 100% for about 2000 rounds as long as i stuck with metal magazines. Accuracy is about 2 moa out to 500 yards with a $30 NcStar 4x scope and military M193 ammo. I say it could do 1 MOA at 100 with match ammo and a descent scope. |

Good stuff. I've had several of there kits as JT Distributing and so has some of my friends. The barrels are usually ER Shaw. Believe that is the same company that makes Colt barrels. Slap me if I'm wrong guys! I like them. Besides they are close for me and easy to work with. Wish they had more stuff to offer than regular mil spec stuff. .02 BTW I have a 16" heavy stanless from them that shoots easily sub MOA out to 300

| I used a DoubleStar lower on one of my builds and the fit/finish easily equals the fit/finish on my Bushmaster. I've also dealt with J&T for small parts on a few occasions and they've always been friendly and courteous. They're located in Winchester, KY (home of Ale81). |
