Well, it finally bit me.

I bought 100rds of Barnaul .223 ammo last spring.  Hadnt had a problem until yesterday. I had heard enough negative reports to persuade me from buying anymore.  But, I have a "tight wad" complex, and didnt want to waste any. The very last round that I had( and I didnt plan on buying anymore), became stuck about half way into the chamber. It is just beyond the lugs, so I cant get a bite on the head.  This is/was a live round.  I believe that I have drove the bullet into the case, then squirted some clp to deaden the charge.  I think so anyway, I saw powder on the rod tip.  I appears as if maybe a head was ripped off before, and the bolt drove that one into the other.  I cant get the darn thing out!!!  I have beat that SOB with a steel (coated) rod, squirted break- free down the barrel, ect...

Any suggestions?  I would appreciate any help you could give me.

Please, dont kick me while Im down.  I have learned my lesson.

If you have some pics you could post, could tell a little better how it is stuck.

The head of the unfired case is just on the inside of the lugs.  Just in far enough that I cant get under the rim of the case with a screw driver.  Sorry, no pics.  Thanks for any replies!!

Did you use .223 match or mil-spec standard 5.56 because it could have had a tight chamber wich may have initally caused the case head to seperate before jamming a live round into the first round.I would sugest taking it to a smith who can take the barrel off completely.I have no experience with J&T and only use Bushmaster barrles or colt if they can be had at normal prices.Usually just a chrome moly barrel has a tight .223 chamber and 5.56 shouldnt be used in them for that reason.Chamber may also be rough if its not tight.

Its a 5.56 chamber, as all of J&Ts.  Ill call them tommarow, and drop it off with a friend that works there.

Thats what I would do,let them take care of it.If its not budging from a rod its really jammed up.Could have also been from a bad case,is Barnaul brass or steel cased?

I know like for wolf a mild stell case is used and have no experience with barnaul. If the second round hadnt jammed a broken shell extractor would have worked niceley.Good luck and let us know what you had to do to get it out. Also steel cased usually works better out of a chrome lined chamber.

Well, Thank God, I got it out!!!  I was in an accident last April, and lost some of the strength in my right arm, so I guess I just wasnt hitting it hard enough.  It was not a case withing a case, but a case that was way, way out of spec. from what I can tell.  I just hope my accuracy is not effected by the driveing of the steel rod down the barrel.  If so, Ive been lookin for an excuse to get a "no ban" chrome lined bore anyway.

Thanks!!!!

Of course you got it out, I had every confidence you could.   Next time wrap the rod with masking tape and you'll hit it hard enough the first swing of the hammer.
