Does anyone own a Colt M4 Match Target?  What are your thoughts on it?

It's designated the MT6400C, and there are a bunch of guys who own them. I started a thread asking for comparisons between those, and the LE6920's that are all the rage right now. Here's the link...have a look for yourself...

Colt M4 (MT6400C vs LE6920) Comparison Thread................

You'll find some pics of some real nice looking MT6400's on that thread.

The thread that M4 listed is a great place to start, and here are some pics of one of mine to give you an idea of what the 6400C is about

The Colt 6400c has an M4 marked upper and lower:

Heavy duty "H" buffer and heavy duty extractor spring for reliability:

Barrel has proper 1/7ROT, chamber and barrel are chrome lined:

The 1/7ROT barrel in the 6400C will allow you to employ the most effective defensive ammunition. Heavier
rounds like the 75gr TAP pictured here are not recommended for 1/9ROT barrels:

Upper is RAS numbered:

Side sling mount:

Standard pushpin lower and no protruding searblock:

Proper M4 handguards with dual heatshields:

Proper M4 entended feedramps:

Lifetime service agreement:

Here is a recent pic of my 6400C:

Colt fire control parts are available anyhwere, even Bushmaster sells a replacement set HERE

Just keep in mind that if you want a sliding buttstock and a flash hider on your 6400C it will be an added expense since they don't presently come that way from the factory.

Thanks for the great information.  The photos were a big help.  I really think that I have made my decisions however living in the lovely state of connecticut , the telescoping stock wont be part of my purchase.

My pleasure

Do you ever get up to the NH seacoast? If so, you are welcome to "test drive" one of mine.

Here's mine.  I really like it.  Fit and Finish is great, and it's got M4 Carbine stamped on the side.  I'm not a Colt only pusher, but I really do like it.  I would add more, but M4 seemed to cover the highlights.

It's pinned with two pins, I believe.  It comes off.  I just haven't ponied up the cash to have a phantom put on.

Drift the pins out with a 1/8 inch punch;if the comp doesnt come off, heat the comp with a torch;it should fall right off(Thanks Kurt).

I appreciate the offer.  I dont get up that way to much.
I would like to thank everyone so far for the great information.  I really think I want one of these.  I think paying for a preban in this state will just be to much for me at the moment

Sweet it uses standard push pins and not that screwy screw thing they used before? I always hated that.

bfd175, I have a MT6400C it remains in post ban condition as I too live in Wonderful CT! I am now hoping that next year we will be able to repeal the AWB in CT.  If not in a few years I'll be moving to Virginia and it won't matter there. Too me the 6400C is a damn good gun. I plan on buying several more as shooters. I also own a 6700C and I would like to have it and the 6400 with the no ban configuration. Atleast my M1A has a flash hider... By the way where in CT are you?

Here is a pic that shows the brake:

I have an MT6400C and it is more accurate than any of my Bushmasters or RRAs.  I don't care for the comp, but as long as it shoots as well as it does, I'll leave it alone.  BTW, I've installed JP triggers in all my other ARs but the factory trigger on my Colt is good enough with just JP springs.
