Can you cut and recrown a barrel without a lathe and have it come out successfully?
If so what tools?
I know who to send it to if you cannot.

With a really good CNC machine you could do it. But I'd suspect you'd own a lathe if you had a good mill.
Just sent the barrel out to someone who will do it right.

+1 on that. If you do a little leg work you should be able to find someone with a lathe. You could have it cut of and crowned in a matter of minuets. It doesn't take any high level of skill or any special tools to get a perfect crown on a lathe.
